Protect Hawai`i Public Radio
On July 17, Congress voted to eliminate federal funding for the entire public media system. For HPR, losing our longest standing source of operating support, funds from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), means at least $525,000 or 6% of our operating budget will now need to be replaced this year and each year going forward. The actual number may be higher as fewer stations will be available to share the cost of an interconnected system.
HPR is now required to move from 94% to 100% community supported, and we believe that together, we can make HPR even stronger. Simply put, we are here for you, with you and we are powered by you. Please be here for us at this critical time.
One of the best ways to ensure HPR's service stays strong is to become a monthly donor-this is called a sustaining membership. Click this link and become one now: Sustaining Membership Thank you!
If you would like to make a donation via check, please make check payable to Hawai'i Public Radio and mail to Hawai'i Public Radio; 738 Kaheka Street; Honolulu, HI 96814. Mahalo!
